NEW Educational Partnerships

The BRIT School

In 2022, HSC and BRIT School officially launched their partnership, committing to work together to widen access to professional careers in dance through alternative pathways and training. The partnership was celebrated with a large-scale re-staging of Hofesh Shechter’s Political Mother, featuring 75 BRIT students and marking BRIT’s 30th anniversary.

Northern School of Contemporary Dance

HSC and NSCD launched a long-term partnership in 2021, to increase equal opportunities, diversity, and progression pathways into the dance sector. Read our joint press release here.

HSC continues to contribute to the curriculum at NSCD, and more recently alumni from this school have successfully auditioned for the 2026 cohort of Shechter II.

Academy of Theatre & Dance, Amsterdam

This relationship had its genesis some years ago with a restaging project and has grown organically over the years, seeing 6 students from the academy now coming through the ranks of Shechter II, some of them going on to work with our main company. A focus on decolonisation of the curriculum, and student-centred learning, aligns with HSC’s drive and focus. Further information on ATD here.

Dance East

HSC will work with Dance East over the coming years to engage with their Centre for Advanced Training Programe, local communities, and to create a Dance Hub for our apprentice company, Shechter II. Further information on the Dance East CAT Programme here.

The Place

HSC will work with The Place over the next three years expanding our Shechter II professional development programme, reflecting our shared commitment to innovation and best practice in supporting the next generation of dance artists.
