NEW Shechter Moves

Shechter Moves is our Learning Development & Engagement programme and is an integral part of the company’s work. Delivered by our exceptional dance artists the programme reaches young people at various stages of their journeys in dance, from National Centre for Advanced Training programmes into further and higher education and training and on into their professional careers.

Shechter Moves also runs educational restaging projects, offering bespoke extracts of Hofesh’s repertoire for graduation performances and special events. Students work with a HSC dancer over a number of weeks to recreate an extract fomr one of Hofesh’s pieces. This proximity to the profession is a valuable learning experience for emergent dancers.

Our biennial talent development programme, Shechter II, offers graduates and young artists the only paid professional opportunity of its kind for emerging contemporary dancers in the UK. Alongside these areas of our work, Shechter Moves also produces large-scale projects that bring together young musicians, dancers and film makers, echoing the creative practices of the company.
