“In our busy touring schedule, it can be a challenge to make lasting and meaningful partnerships with students and schools, so working with King Edward VI students has been very exciting. It’s been fantastic to build a long-term relationship over time, to contribute to the arts provision in the school, and engage with pupils over a number of years in their school life. It’s been such a beneficial experience for our dancers too. It’s a win-win partnership!”
Lucy Moelwyn-Hughes, Participation Producer, Hofesh Shechter Company

Hofesh is working with DanceEast to develop a package of support for young dance students and their teachers.

As part of the scheme, piloted these last few years with King Edward VI School in Suffolk, pupils will meet with our dancers once a term in a variety of ways: performance visits, workshops, backstage tours and Skype interviews.

This collaboration with Hofesh offers the opportunity to give pupils exciting approaches to choreography and performance, plus other insights into the dance industry.

"I must say thank you so much for our ongoing partnership - the Year 9’s perspective has been changed totally. The A Level students now really understand the the importance of process over product. In our current AS Level exams where they created Hofesh-inspired pieces themselves, all AS students were marked in the top mark band!"
