Head of Finance and Operations
Hofesh Shechter Company seeks a Head of Finance and Operations to join our leadership team at Somerset House. This pivotal role manages strategic three-year budget planning and core functions including Finance, HR, IT and Governance.
Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will provide essential oversight to help achieve our creative and commercial goals. In this role, you will be expected to actively drive an entrepreneurial culture by adding your voice and ideas to the exploration of new income streams and providing the financial analysis and insight needed to strengthen fundraising initiatives and core business functions.
We require an experienced professional with accountancy qualifications and strong operational skills to oversee business functions and strategic planning. A supportive leadership style is essential.

Upgrade Yourself: Creative Industry Placements
Are you ready to step behind the scenes of the international dance and arts scene? As part of the prestigious Somerset House Upgrade Yourself initiative, we are offering a unique 12-month career development opportunity designed to bridge the gap between passion and profession.
This isn’t just an internship; it’s a professional pathway into the heart of the creative industries. You will spend six months immersed in the world of Hofesh Shechter Company, followed by six months with Headlong Theatre within the Somerset House resident community.
Placement Overview
Now in its sixth year, this programme is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of talent, with a core mission to support and elevate underrepresented voices in the arts.
There are five placements for creative individuals (aged 18–25) to gain hands-on experience in how a global creative business operates. From the energy of day-to-day management to the strategy of programming and operations, you will be right in the thick of it.

The Details
In line with our commitment to equity and opening up fairly paid entry routes into the sector, all participants are fully supported:
- Duration: 12 Months (Split placement)
- Salary: London Living Wage (£28,860 per annum, effective April 2026)
- Eligibility: Ages 18–25 who identify as belonging to a community that is underrepresented (see Job advert for more information).
