Trusts and Foundations
Through our programmes and projects, Hofesh Shechter Company aims to be a leader in the sector helping to shape the future of dance and inspiring artists, participants and audiences from across the world. Our work is important because it contributes to the evolution of the art form and at the same time supports people to live rich and healthy lives through creative expression and skills, enhancing wellbeing and offering opportunities for people to fulfil potential and pursue creative careers.
With the help of Trusts and Foundations who support our charitable ambitions, we make a difference and create impact;
through innovation – recognised in the UK and internationally as a boundary-breaking dance company, Hofesh Shechter OBE is celebrated as a pioneer, ‘true original’ (The Guardian) multi-disciplinary artist, who creations across dance, music generate unparalleled experiences
through quality – we contribute to the creative ecology by producing high-quality, award-winning, critically acclaimed (co)productions for the stage and screen. Hofesh also collaborates with some of the world’s most exciting artists through major co-productions
through partnerships – we work with UK and international partners and are presented in world-class venues and at festivals, in opera houses, cinemas and spaces across the UK and worldwide, helping to build and support a global network.
through Shechter Moves – we provide annual opportunities for over 5,000 young people aged 14+ and early career professionals to participate and develop in dance through workshops, intensives, residencies, educational restagings, classes and resources. We work with strategic partners to reach wider into communities and inspire young dancers from diverse backgrounds to increase representation in the dance world.
through Shechter II – every 2 years, we develop and showcase the next generation of exceptional artists, offering 8 young dancers from around the world paid opportunities to train, create and tour within our world-class company. Our dancers also benefit from a Continued Professional Development (CPD) offer woven throughout their year-long programme (which includes dance science; health and wellbeing; self-directed R&D; creation with another choreographer; workshop leadership training and self-promotion).
through employment – we generate opportunities for creative development and careers for up to 100 artists, creatives and technicians (including freelancers) a year
through reach: every year, we tour our productions across the UK and globe, presenting on average 180 live shows to over 100,000 audiences, and reaching over a million people digitally.
Delivering our wide-reaching, impactful programmes each year would not be possible without the generous support of Trusts and Foundations who share our desire to make change and transform lives.
