Hello,
I’m Rachel Fallon, a dancer with Hofesh Shechter Company, and I’m peeking from backstage to welcome you to my photography project, Behind The Curtain.
As an audience member we often see what’s presented to us onstage, and if we’re lucky a glimpse into the artists world from afar. After being surrounded by many talented artists at HSC, I was inspired to dive deeper into what makes each dancer tick. What fuels their inspiration and passion, both inside and outside of the company. And what better way to do that, but from my own passionate lens.
I have loved photography and documenting life since my first black and white disposable camera some 15 years ago. Once Covid hit, I made photographing a full time job for myself, by daily documenting a once in a lifetime experience.
I wanted to use my love of photography to shine a light on my talented colleagues and their individuality. Through the capturing the dancers photos, and a selection of questions, we’ll take a look at their very unique passions, journeys, and the humanity of each performer.
