Contemporary Dance 2.0 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Currently touring internationally, Contemporary Dance 2.0 unleashes the intensity of Shechter’s signature ensemble work combined with an eclectic sound score with euphoric feel and throbbing beats. Performed by our 2022 Shechter II cohort who represent the very best of emerging artists aged 18-25.
SHOW (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
In this short extract from our 2018 production SHOW, be prepared as our dancers unleash a whirlwind of choreographed anarchy each playing their part in a macabre circus of comedy, murder and desire.
DanceEast CAT (Sunday)

Up-and-coming choreographer, Liam Francis, performs an extract of Where to Start? A tale of compassion and identity is unpacked in this coming-of-age duet, which sees the performers tear themselves apart in an effort to share how they feel

Hofesh Shechter’s Clowns (Friday)
A rare opportunity to see Hofesh Shechter’s Clowns. First broadcast on BBC Two in 2018, Hofesh combines his bold and exhilarating movement for the screen, with a percussive, cinematic score that brings audiences up close to his exceptional ensemble of dancers.
POLITICAL MOTHER: The Final Cut (Saturday)
For one night only. Filmed during lockdown in the Grand Hall at Battersea Arts Centre, HofeshShechter reimagines Political Mother for the screen, creating an extraordinary film and dance piece that is emotionally complex and powerfully significant and theatrically thrilling.
Workshops
Get into dance workshop (Saturday, Sunday)
No dance experience is required. Join us for an activating, 30-minute introductory workshop, suitable for all ages and experiences.
Percussion workshop (Saturday)
Find your rhythm with master percussionist Dominic Goundar in this interactive percussion workshop. Participants will have the chance to learn basic drumming techniques and patterns, so you can expect high-energy, great fun, whilst making lots of noise! All ages and abilities are welcome.
Contemporary Dance Workshop – ‘Clubbing’ (Saturday)
Delve deeper into the work of Hofesh Shechter’s seminal work, Political Mother with a chance to learn movement from the iconic ‘clubbing’ section.
Contemporary Dance Workshop (Sunday)
Starting with our daily company warm-up, this workshop will give participants the chance to explore the distinctive movement style and imagery across Hofesh Shechter’s works
